1. So this is my current project after a week of working on it, meaning it could end up being nothing to do with this. I’m now, finally, in my final year at University, and this is the first project of the year, minor one.  The brief is to take a quote, and to create a visual demonstration of it, while showing the Character of the author through the style. I chose “In his house at R’lyeh, Dead Cthulhu waits dreaming”, or more accurately “Ph’nglui Mglw’nafr cthulhu r’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn”.  This would be printed on a matt stock, and all the bits that are currently black should be spot varnished. Again, this is early days. The text of the quote would go in the bigger bubbles.

There has been no posting on here for a while, and there won’t be for a while more, as I have managed to get myself labrynthitis, a fairly harmless but horrid infection of the inner ear which means I’m terribly dizzy and nauseous. It has so far lasted for two weeks, and has the ability, I’m told, to last for up to four more. Lets hope that doesn’t happen.

  4. New Project is a game, so I’ve decided on trying my hand at pixel art. I made a way more detailed version before realising it’s far better being simplified a ridiculous amount.  This will be a HQ style building.

  5. Well the Typography tag on Tumblr appears to be slowly improving

    it’s about time, I don’t know how many times I’ve looked and been literally brought to tears by some of it. Hopefully the bad leading and bad kerning trends have stopped too.

  6. I need to get a bigger online presence, and I know this. So I have cunningly devised a plan to post more of my own stuff on the internet, instead of posting the design I enjoy as I do on sammarshalldesigninspiration.tumblr.com.

    Here is the start of that, the latest project I received from University. The brief, in short, was to create an infographic-style piece around some aspect or other of The Olympics, and clearly I chose the torch. Enjoy!
